Nassau County Bartram Trail Project
In cooperation with the Bartram Trail Society of Florida and the Bartram Trail Conference plans are underway to identify and mark William Bartram sites in Nassau County. The trail will link with other Bartram sites in Duval, St Johns, Volusia and Putnam Counties. The club’s primary role in the project is to educate and connect City, County and State officials with the above affiliates, specifically Sam Carr, president of both organizations.
Markers represented by the image below bearing the name of “Nassau Bartram Trail” will be placed at strategic locations on Ameila Island where Bartram first began his exploration of Florida in 1774.
