Florida Arbor Day Celebration

Our 2025 Florida Arbor Day exhibit was placed in the Fernandina Beach public library the week of January 17 and after. Tree-related books were provided by the library and available for check out. The COFB conservation department provided phamphets for the taking which covered myriad topics such as how to select, plant, mulch and maintain trees. This was an opportunity to emphasize the important role trees play in our maritime ecosystem.

Why Join a Federated Garden Club?

Bartram Garden Club is one of only two Florida Federated Garden Clubs in Nassau County.

Those who join The Bartram Garden Club automatically become a member of our state affiliate, The Florida Federation of Garden Clubs, Inc. and national affiliate, National Garden Clubs, Inc.

FFGC amplifies the opportunities beyond the borders of our local club. Diverse educational programs and outreach opportunities to the public are available to all FFGC clubs.

School Book Donation

Natalie Loucks, 4th grade teacher at Emma Love Elementary in Fernandina Beach, accepting nature books published by National Garden Clubs and donated by The Bartram Garden Club. Natalie is the daughter of club member Claudia Burningham. These books encourage children to get outside and connect with nature, furthering our club objective to “leave no child inside.”

Adopt-A-Park, Online Butterfly Courses, Bartram Trail designations, NGC Blue and Gold Star Memorial Markers, Coral Restoration, Florida Wildflowers, Garden Therapy, Habitat for Humanity, Invasive Plants & Species awareness, NGC Plant-A-Tree (formerly Penny Pines), Roadside Beautification, Reclamation and Recycling, and Youth Activities are just a few ways FFGC extends services to the community at large in Florida.

National Garden Clubs, Inc. additionally supports community gardens (Plant America, Feed America grants); gardening and horticulture education; environmental and conservation concerns; National Garden Week; Wildlife Habitat Certifications; Flower Show, Environmental, Gardening, and Landscape Design Schools; College Scholarships; and Natural Disaster Relief grants.

Community Recognitions Worksop

On December 5, 2024 ten members created 30 holiday wreaths to adorn offices of COFB and Nassau County government agencies, including First Responder stations.
The donations were made in appreciation of their services to our community and in recognition of COFB and Nassau County’s Bicentennial Celebrations.
A message of appreciation was delivered with each wreath using club stationary

Bartram Hosts FFGC
District IV Meeting

The club was proud to host the Spring 2025 District meeting on May 15 at the Woman’s Club of Fernandina Beach. 79 members from across the district were in attendance. We shared a time of recognizing clubs’ accomplishments and learning how the district benefits us, while celebrating our newly installed district officers. A catered lunch was provided to enhance our social time. Pictured below are Bartram co-presidents, Karen and Kathye Reily, accepting three FFGC awards won by our club in 2024.
